Set up the browser extension
Use the MyQRLWallet browser extension to manage a QRL 2.0 account from Chrome. This guide covers installation, recovery backups, test Quanta, and everyday wallet actions. Keep your recovery phrase safe before trying the private QRL 2.0 test network (Testnet v3).
Install the extension
- Open the official MyQRLWallet Chrome Web Store listing and add the extension to Chrome.
- Open Chrome's Extensions menu and pin MyQRLWallet if you want it on your toolbar. Open the extension and follow the welcome screen.
- At Set Wallet Password, choose and confirm a strong password. Select Continue.
Create a wallet and back it up
- At Add your first account, select Create a new account.
- On Back up your recovery phrase, reveal the phrase and write down every word in order. Check your written copy against the screen.
- Select I saved my recovery phrase. Enter the requested words from your backup, then select Confirm backup.
- Finish the setup prompts and open the account. Keep the written recovery phrase in a safe place offline.
Keep your recovery phrase private. Anyone with the words can control the account. Never share them with support, a faucet, or a dApp. Store your written backup somewhere safe and offline.
Import an existing wallet
- Choose Import an existing account during setup. If you already use the extension, open the account list to add or import another account.
- Select Mnemonic and enter your recovery phrase in order. The Hex seed and Wallet file tabs accept those backup formats.
- For an encrypted wallet file, select the file and enter its backup password. Complete the import prompts.
- Check the restored Q address and keep your original recovery backup safe.
Get test Quanta from the faucet
- Open your account and select Receive. Copy the full address, which starts with Q.
- Open the ZondScan faucet. Paste your address, check it against the wallet, and submit a request. Complete any verification shown on the page.
- Wait for the transaction to appear in the explorer and for your wallet balance to update. Follow any retry or waiting instructions the faucet displays.
The faucet supplies test Quanta for this QRL 2.0 test network. Test funds have no monetary value. See ZondScan's faucet guide for more detail.
Receive Quanta
- Select the account you want to receive into, then open Receive. Share its Q address or the address QR code with the sender.
- Ask the sender to use the same QRL 2.0 test network. Check your balance and history after the transaction confirms.
Your public address is safe to share for receiving funds. Keep your recovery phrase private.
Send Quanta
- Select the funded account and open Send.
- Enter the recipient's full Q address and an amount in Quanta. Leave enough Quanta for the network fee.
- Check the full recipient address, amount, and fee on the send screen. Select Send Quanta when the details are correct.
- Wait for the result and use the transaction hash to check its status.
Read every confirmation screen before approving a request. For requests from websites, follow the dApp connection guide.
View transaction history
- Return to your account and select History. Check the incoming and outgoing transactions for that account.
- Use a transaction's explorer link, or paste its transaction hash into ZondScan, to check its status and details.
If a transfer is still pending, check its status before sending again. Learn how to read the result in ZondScan's transaction guide.
Lock and unlock the extension
- Open the three-dot menu and select Lock Wallet when you finish.
- Open the extension again, enter the wallet password, and select Unlock.
- Use Settings, then Security, to adjust the automatic lock timeout.
Your password unlocks the accounts saved in this browser. Keep each account's recovery phrase so you can restore it if the browser data or extension is removed.
Choose a comfortable view
The three-dot menu offers Open In Tab and, where Chrome supports it, Open as Side Panel. A wider view can make long Q addresses and transaction details easier to review.
Keep exploring
Try connecting a dApp, explore swaps, or read the staking guide. The explorer guide helps you follow activity on the network.
