Connect your wallet to a dApp

A dApp is a website that asks your wallet to connect or sign an action. This guide uses the QRL Connect demo to walk through connecting, sending a test transaction, signing a message and ending the connection.

Before you start

Use a wallet on the private QRL 2.0 test network (Testnet v3). You can connect with the MyQRLWallet browser extension, the web wallet, the desktop wallet or the Android app. MyQRLWallet is coming to the App Store.

Keep your seed phrase backed up offline. Never share it with a dApp or paste it into a connection form. Connecting shares the account you approve; your wallet keeps the signing keys.

For the transfer exercise, get test funds from the ZondScan faucet. Testnet Quanta has no monetary value. Connecting and signing the demo messages do not spend Quanta.

Connect with the browser extension

  1. Open and unlock MyQRLWallet in your browser. Select the testnet account you want to use.
  2. Open the demo dApp in the same browser. Under Connect Wallet, choose MyQRLWallet's browser extension option in the wallet picker. The demo groups the extension and QRL Connect under MyQRLWallet.
  3. Review the connection request in the extension. Check that the website is zondscan.com, then approve the account access you intend to grant.
  4. Return to the demo. Check the connected account against your wallet's full Q-prefixed address.

If the extension is missing from the picker, check that it is installed and enabled in this browser, then reload the dApp.

Connect the mobile app with a QR code

  1. Open the demo on a second screen. Choose MyQRLWallet's phone, web or desktop option. If the extension is installed, use the alternative pairing option in the same wallet entry.
  2. Leave the QRL Connect QR code visible. Open MyQRLWallet on your phone and unlock the wallet.
  3. On the wallet's home screen, tap Scan QR code. Allow camera access if requested, then scan the dApp's code. The Android and iOS apps use this scanner.
  4. Review the dApp connection and account request in the wallet. Check the site you opened and approve only the account you want to share.
  5. Check that the demo shows your connected account. Keep the wallet available for later approval requests.

QRL Connect carries requests over an encrypted relay. Each transaction or signing request still needs your approval in the wallet.

Connect the web wallet

  1. Choose MyQRLWallet's phone, web or desktop option in the demo to open the QRL Connect pairing screen.
  2. Select Open web wallet. This opens qrlwallet.com with the connection request. Open your wallet and review the pairing consent.
  3. Approve the dApp's account request after checking the site and account. Return to the demo to check the connected address.

The same pairing screen also offers Copy connection code. In the web wallet, open Settings, find dApp connections and choose Connect a dApp. Paste the code, select Connect and review the connection.

Connect the desktop wallet

  1. Choose MyQRLWallet's phone, web or desktop option in the demo, then select Copy connection code.
  2. Open and unlock the desktop wallet. Select dApps in the sidebar, then Connect a dApp.
  3. Paste the code and select Connect. Check the site in the pairing request and approve the connection.
  4. Review and approve the account request, then return to the demo to check the connected address.

Review a test transaction

  1. In the demo's Send Transaction section, enter a Q-prefixed testnet address you control and a small amount, such as 0.01 Quanta. Leave some Quanta for the fee.
  2. Select Send Transaction. Open your wallet when the approval request arrives.
  3. Verify the full recipient address on the confirmation screen. Check the network, sending account, amount and fee. For a contract request, also review the contract and action.
  4. Approve when the details match. Follow the returned transaction hash on ZondScan to check the result.

Reject an unexpected request. A connection approval gives the dApp access to the account you selected; spending and signing have their own prompts.

Sign a message or typed data

The demo supports message signing with qrl_signMessage and structured signing with qrl_signTypedData. Both use ML-DSA-87 post-quantum signatures. The demo checks the returned signatures locally.

  1. Under Sign (Post-Quantum), enter a short message you understand, then select Sign Message.
  2. Read the message and account in your wallet. Approve it, then check the result in the demo.
  3. To try structured signing, review the demo's typed-data payload and select Sign Typed Data.
  4. Check the domain, chain, account, amount, deadline and any contract address in the wallet. Approve only if those fields match the action you intend.

The sample typed-data contract address is an undeployed placeholder. This exercise returns a signature. In other dApps, signatures can authorize logins or orders that someone uses later, so read them as carefully as a transaction.

Disconnect when you finish

Select Disconnect in the demo. To end any connection that remains saved in your wallet, follow the steps for your platform.

Web wallet

  1. Open Settings and find dApp connections.
  2. Check the site and select Disconnect beside its session. Disconnect all ends all listed QRL Connect sessions.

Android and iOS app

  1. Open Settings, then Connected dApps.
  2. Find the site under Active and tap its Disconnect button.
  3. Confirm Disconnect in the prompt. Repeat for each connection you want to end.

Desktop wallet

  1. Select dApps in the sidebar to open dApp connections.
  2. Check the site and select Disconnect beside its session. Disconnect all ends all listed QRL Connect sessions.

Browser extension

  1. Keep the dApp's browser tab active and open the extension. Select the DApp Connectivity button in the extension header.
  2. Under Active browser tab, check the site and select the Disconnect icon.
  3. Check the site in the confirmation prompt and select Yes.

Closing a browser tab can leave a saved session available for reconnection. Disconnecting ends that access. Completed transactions and signatures already shared remain valid under their original rules.

Continue with the QuantaSwap guide or the ZondScan guide. Developers can find the signing and pairing details in the QRL Connect documentation.
